FROM SENSORY NEEDS TO SENSORY SUPPORT

Understanding what the body might be trying to tell us.

Sometimes, it’s not about asking:

“Why are they reacting like this?”

It’s about asking:

“What might their body be trying to tell us?”

Sensory differences can affect how a child experiences clothing, food, movement, sounds, smells, personal care and everyday environments.

Understanding the need is only the beginning.

Knowing how to respond is where support begins.

WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE

This practical session will help parents, carers and anyone supporting children to better understand sensory needs and respond with strategies that fit the child.

We’ll explore:

  • Tactile sensitivities — dressing, textures & personal care

  • Movement & body awareness — regulation and sensory needs

  • Food, taste & smell challenges

  • Interoception — understanding body signals

  • Sensory adjustments at school and in the community

  • Strategies matched to your child’s individual needs

  • Supporting children before, during and after sensory overload

THE GOAL?

Not to make children fit the environment.

But to help create environments that work better for them.
